Comparisons
1. The Tanzimat era education reform is similar to the Spartan society and their enrollment of young boys into military boot camp known as the Agoge. Although this is different types of education both were in a way mandatory. In the Tanzimat era, primary school was free and mandatory and in the Sparta, the boys were taken at age seven and sent to this camp in order to learn military basics and skills. (Lainey)
2. The emancipation of the serfs after the Crimean war is very similar to the emacipation of salves in the America. Although this happened at slightly different times you can reveal that though the slaves and serfs weren't the same they where similar in the ways they where treated even after emacipation. The slaves and serfs even though being considered free still where not treated very well and most still ended up poor while some did become wealthier which still wasn't much at all. (Aj)
